Grand Teton and Arches National Parks

Since I've been camping and had limited access to post, I'll just upload some pics. I wrote stuff down in my journal, which just doesn't seem that interesting right now. And since it was 102 today in Moab, I decided to splurge on a Motel 6 room that includes AC and a hot shower - both things I needed. So here are some cool pictures!

This is a shot from U.S. Hwy 26 crossing the Continental Divide on my way to Grand Teton National Park Sunday around noon. The clouds looked a lot worse than it was.

The Grand Tetons.

A flat part of Jackson Lake allowed for a nice mirror image....and also inspired me to buy a 6 pack of Mirror Pond Pale Ale by Deschutes Brewing Co. from Bend, OR.

A yellow flower along the trail. I'm no botanist.

Jackson Lake early on Sunday morning.

An eager beaver (I think) on the trail to Hidden Falls in Grand Teton NP.

Hidden Falls, which wasn't so hidden. Lots of people go to see it. They even have a ferry boat for those who don't want to walk the 2.5 miles.

Water at the bottom of Hidden Falls rushing over some rocks.

A white flower along the trail. Again, I'm no botanist.

After 500 something miles and 8 plus hours, I finally made it to Arches National Park in Utah. Fortunately I'm spending two nights here, so no serious driving on Monday!

Delicate Arch

Skyscraper Arch

Pine Arch

Along the Devil's Garden Trail.

Landscape Arch - the span is 306 feet! That's a football field to you and me!

Turret Arch....getting the idea why it's called "Arches" National Park?

That's it for now. On to Canyonlands for a quick tour Tuesday morning and then a five hour drive to Great Basin NP in Nevada, followed by Yosemite, and finally the Morgan household in SF to meet Ava!
