Harrisburg, PA!!!

OK, so maybe it's not a glamorous beginning to a 9000 mile trek. But neither is leaving NYC at 4:30 AM in order to arrive in Pittsburgh in time for a 1:30 first pitch between the Pirates and the Phillies. So I decided to leave on the 3rd, go about halfway and spend the night in Harrisburg (it is the capital!).

In case I haven't mentioned this to you, I've decided to spend the month of July driving across the country and back. Along the way, I'll be seeing baseball games at some great new ballparks, about a half-dozen National Parks, hopefully some live music, and definitely eating some good food. Oh yeah...and the Famous Racing Sausages at Miller Park in Milwaukee (http://mlb.mlb.com/mil/fan_forum/racing_sausages.jsp). The Polish Sausage is having a good year, but the Italian Sausage isn't far behind.

The drive from NYC was pretty uneventful. While the 90 degree heat gives the city a unique aroma, the cows and skunks gave me something ripe to smell on I-78 in PA. But somehow I didn't mind...even had the windows open a bit.

For those who insisted I blog about this, don't expect to be wowed by my writing. And for those who wanted to see pictures....you'll have to wait. Nothing much to see here in Harrisburg.
