Oakdale???

So Yosemite didn't work out the way I had hoped. I should have just grabbed a campsite before heading into the park, but didn't and instead got to spend the night in Oakdale, CA. I did get a good night's sleep, a hot shower, and a complimentary continental breakfast!

I also got to discover that Oakdale, CA is the Cowboy Capital of the World! The girl at the Starbucks informed me that it was between Oakdale and San Antonio, TX and Oakdale won! Take that San Antone!

Since I wasn't going to be hiking in Yosemite, I took this opportunity to take care of some errands. For starters, laundry at Laundraland in Oakdale.

One of the patrons was sporting an Uncle Sam t-shirt saying "I want you...to speak English!" I don't think she was all too familiar with the language.

Next was lunch at In N' Out Burgers! Double-Double with onions and fries. Mmmmm.

And lastly, since I was rapidly approaching 4400 miles on the trip, time for the first oil change at Livermore Subaru - it included a badly needed car wash. My bumper had 14 states worth of bugs and maybe a few feathers from an unfortunately low flying bird in Wyoming.

Finally, over the Bay Bridge to the Richmond section of San Francisco for a couple of days with Christi, Mike, and Ava.
